As always, a New Year brings new design trends with it. We’ve had a quick look at what to expect in 2025:
VINTAGE FURNITURE We have long advocated the use of vintage furniture within interior design schemes, not only from a sustainability point of view but because these well-crafted pieces offer an opportunity to showcase your individual style. Invest in a number of quality pieces which you love – they will last for years and can easily be incorporated into modern day spaces.
UNFITTED KITCHENS Showhome-worthy fitted kitchens seem to have had their time and we will see a move towards unfitted schemes – think free-standing work benches, butchers blocks and mis-matched chairs. We love this – you can create a more personal look which is easily adaptable to your own needs.
WOOD The use of natural materials will be prominent this year, in particular the use of wood; from large natural wood counter tops, through to the use of wooden flooring, panelling and ceiling beams. We have also seen an increase of schemes which incorporate exposed BRICK in a rustic rather than industrial way. The use of brick slips is a great way to introduce this look into a smaller space such as a splashback or fireplace.
READING NOOKS A quiet corner purposefully curated in which to relax. There is a lean towards these being little locales of luxury: colour-drenched spaces with mixed textiles and bags of personality. Possibly our favourite new trend!
