There are a few things that you can do yourself ahead of submitting for planning permission……
* Check with your Councils planning service to see if your project will need permission. Some works count as ‘permitted development’ and some may only require ‘prior notification’.
* You can contact your local planning officer for ‘pre-application advice’ (likely for a small fee) to receive informal guidance on your intended project and its chances of receiveing approval.
* Chat with your neighbours! They will be affected by your plans; either directly of your properties are adjacent or indirectly through increased traffic maovement or noise / dust throughout your development. Either way, a friendly chat outlining your plans is often appreciated.

Can you be more specific about the content of your article? After reading it, I still have some doubts. Hope you can help me.
